Toronto Police are issuing a public safety alert after what they describe as the attempted abduction of a child in Etobicoke.
Police say it happened near Park Lawn Rd and Berry Rd, north of the Queensway at about 3 p.m. Friday.
Const. David Hopkinson says a man approached a group of three or four 10 and 11 year-olds, grabbed one of them by the arm and tried to pull them away. Hopkinson says the children screamed, the man loosened his grip and kids ran.
The suspect is described as white, about 50-years-old, standing 6' with a medium to heavy build, short white hair, an unshaven face, and a prominent nose. He was wearing a khaki or light green bomber jacket, a grey or black winter hat, and black sunglasses.
