School bus drivers with First Student Canada, who are represented by Unifor, are in a legal strike postion as of November 3rd at 12:01am.
Any walkout would affect about 6 thousand students at 46 schools in the Toronto Catholic District School Board, which is roughly 20% of all students who need to be bused.
When it comes to the Toronto District School Board, they would be affected too, but the number would be much less, closer to 25 hundred students affected.
Board spokesman John Yan says there are negotiations planned up until and including the deadline.
He says this group of drivers isn't from one of the companies who failed to come up with the sufficient number of drivers to fill the contracts at the start of the year.
Letters outlining what will happen in a worst case scenario have gone out to parents.
