Ontario's government marijuana retailer is out with a new warning over the possibility of further delays for orders placed on its OCS.ca website.
The site is the only legal way to buy recreational cannabis, until independent brick-and-mortal stores are licensed to open next Spring.
Ontario Cannabis Store says in a new written statement fanned out on Tuesday afternoon that there is 'unbelievably high demand' for product orders through the website.
It adds that combined with rotating strikes at Canada Post could mean it could take even longer than 5 days for orders to make it to a customer's door.
The original promise from the Ontario government was that orders could be completed within 1-3 business days.
Ontario Cannabis Store says its staff is working around the clock to keep the website working well, and to maintain adequate stock.
Officials say the agency taking steps to process orders more quickly.
The OCS website has processed more than 100,000 orders since cannabis was legalized last week.
