New poll results collected before the final TV debate shows the Ontario NDP went into Sunday night with a slim lead in support over the Progressive-Conservatives.
The data from Mainstreet Research suggests Andrea Horwath and the NDP have 39.3% support among decided voters, which is up 10% from Mainstreet's previous poll from 10 days earlier.
Doug Ford and his Ontario PC's are down 4.6%, to 37.3% of support.
Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals sit at 16% support, after falling 6.3% from Mainstreet's last survey.
"Doug Ford has blown the large lead he had in March and the Ontario election is now a competitive affair," said Quito Maggi, President and CEO of Mainstreet Research.
"The question facing Ontarians is whether they will give Ford or Andrea Horwath the keys to government for the next four years."
The poll of almost 1,700 people was carried out on May 27th and May 28th and has a margin of error of =/- 2.39%.
A closer look at the numbers suggests the New Democrats have the advantage over the PC's in Toronto, southwestern and south-central Ontario, and northern parts of the province.
The PC's have strong leads in Eastern Ontario and in the Greater Toronto Area.
Its where Ford's support is concentrated that could give him the edge on Election Day, according to Maggi.
"Because there are more seats in the rural areas, we think that Ford and the PC's still have the edge over the NDP," he says.
"We think the NDP will need to go up another three points or so to win."
