Premier Doug Ford has two high-profile meetings scheduled for Thursday.
The first is with Mayor John Tory at 9:30 a.m.. Tory will visit Queen's Park where according to a release from the Premier's office, the two will "discuss shared priorities."
This involves "how the two governments can work together on transit, on affordable housing, on community safety and a host of other things we'll work together on, our waterfront," Tory told NEWSTALK1010's media partner CP24.
"We're going to begin, really, because it's the first time since my election and his that we've sat together - both now elected for four years - and we're going to find ways to work together."
On Wednesday, Toronto City Council voted 18 to 8 to double the staffing budgets for their offices, in reaction to Ford's cuts to the number of seats on council - from 44 down to 25.
The move allows councillors to spend more on supplies - up to $50,000 from $34,000 previously. It also allows them to hire more staff.
Ford's second meeting of the day is with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau just before 4:00 in the afternoon.
The Premier will fly to Montreal to have one-on-one time with Trudeau ahead of the first ministers meeting.
