Premier Doug Ford says his Progressive-Conservative government is looking forward to working with Justin Trudeau over the course of his next term as Prime Minister.
A written statement issued by the Premier's office on Tuesday morning congratulates Trudeau and talks about the Premier's desire to make progress on promises to 'build better public services and make life more affordable and prosperous for Ontarians and all Canadians.'
Ford also talks about his desire to bolster the number of long-term care beds within Ontario's health system, as well as taking action to reduce gridlock in communities across the province.
"Our government is further encouraged by the Prime Minister's commitment on the campaign trail to fund the federal government's share of the all-new Ontario Line subway project," Ford says.
Trudeau won a second term in office on Monday night, with voters sending his Liberals back to the House of Commons to form a minority government.
The party won 20 fewer seats than it did on Election Day in 2015, earning a total of 157 seats across the country.
