Premier Doug Ford denies the legislature has been recessed for nearly five months to help the federal Conservatives in the fall election campaign.
The legislature will not resume until after the national vote -- and NDP leader Andrea Horwath has said Ford either plans to campaign for federal Conservative leader Andrew Scheer or has been told to lay low to avoid hurting him.
But Ford told a news conference marking the first anniversary of his majority election win that he has said all along that he would not get involved in the federal election campaign and neither of the things Horwath said are true.
He also denies he's already involved in the campaign through provincial ads targeting the federal carbon tax -- saying they would be running whether or not an election was coming.
