For months, Premier Doug Ford has been promising a line-by-line review of the province's books.
That review is one step closer to happening.
Treasury Board President Peter Bethlenfalvy announced that EY Canada was the successful bidder to conduct the comprehensive review of all government programs and services.
EY Canada, was once known as Ernst and Young, and they say they will "begin their detailed analysis of the government's current spending and benchmarking work immediately." according to a release from the province.
Bethlenfalvy says the review will also include public consultations.
"The review will include opportunities for the public, including public servants, to contribute to the audit and help identify where the government can spend smarter and more efficiently, while avoiding job cuts." he says in a release.
The province put the call out for bidders on the project on July 17th, with the deadline for submissions on August 1st.
