The man at the centre of Tuesday's controversial police arrest at Dundas and Church St.'s has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment.
42-year old John Henry was back in front of a judge on Friday as his case makes its way through court.
Henry faces 9 charges, including uttering death threats, assaulting a peace officer, and assault.
He was arrested after police received calls about a man yelling and taking swings at staff at a downtown homeless shelter.
Officers were captured on cell phone video jolting Henry with a taser while he was on the ground and threatening to seize the witness' cell phone.
Waseem Khan, the man who shot the footage, has filed a formal complaint with the office of the Independent Police Review Director.
