Police are warning of a series of armed robberies in north Scarborough that involved a white van.
The three incidents happened on Monday, in the area of the DVP and Steeles Ave.
In two of the incidents, police say that a vehicle was rear-ended by a white van. When the occupants of the vehicle got out to inspect the damage, they were attacked by men from the van.
In the first incident, a 20-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were pushed up against their vehicle by two men who were holding firearms. Police say their pockets were emptied, and the suspects also stole cell phones, a wallet and identification from the vehicle.
In the second incident where a vehicle was rear-ended, police say a 27-year-old man got out to inspect the damage. Two men got out of the white van and allegedly pushed the man to the ground, holding a knife.
Police say a third man stood by, and the suspects left with the victim's wallet, cell phone, backpack, car key fob, and house keys.
In the third incident, investigators say a 20-year-old woman was crossing the street near Don Mills Rd and Van Horne Ave when she was almost hit by a white van that pulled in front of her. A man came out of the van, according to police, and pulled out a firearm.
Police say there was a struggle when the suspect demanded her property, but this time a witness intervened and the suspect took off in the white van.
In each of the incidents, the suspects are described as black and about 18-25 years old. One of the suspects was described as about 5'3", wearing red clothing.
Police are asking the public to be vigilant.
