Wasted time and money at Toronto City Hall today after some councillors didn't show up to a major meeting on time.
Staff were in place for the Public Works & Infrastructure Committee meeting at 9:30 a.m. but a lack of quorum forced it to be pushed to 1:30 p.m.
This is a meeting where the committee might endorse moving forward with private garbage collection east of Yonge, as well as, allowing drivers with accessibility parking permits to stop in bike lanes while loading/unloading disabled passengers.
"Councillor Lee advised me a month he wouldn't be here because he's overseas; Councillor Moeser called in this morning to clerk staff to say he wouldn't be attending; Councillor Perruzza was on his way here and is stuck in traffic," explains Councillor Jaye Robinson.
She says there were people waiting to give deputations that will now have to wait hours longer.
