Manitoba R-C-M-P say they have not yet confirmed whether two men spotted in the community of York Landing are two suspects wanted for killings in B-C.
Corporal Julie Courchaine says police are aware it's a trying time for residents as there's a lot of uncertainty.
She says people need to stay indoors as much as possible and report anything suspicious.
Mounties received a tip last night that two people matching the description of Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod were spotted near the community's dump.
The last confirmed sighting of the two suspects was a week ago in Gillam, another remote community to the northeast of York Landing.
Schmegelsky and McLeod, both from Port Alberni, B-C, are charged with second-degree murder in the death of University of British Columbia professor Leonard Dyck.
The pair are also suspected in the fatal shooting of Australian Lucas Fowler and his American girlfriend Chynna Deese.
