You may have noticed something at gas stations around the province recently; they're out of gas.
It's not just your local spot either, this is a problem affecting the entire province.
"We're seeing a tightness in supply here in Ontario, because two of the three refineries in Sarnia, are experiencing some difficulties, meaning they don't really have a lot of supply right now." says Dan McTeague from gasbuddy.com.
He says the refineries belong to Imperial Oil and Suncor, meaning you'll probably see a shortage at Esso and PetroCanada stations first.
But it also means the places that do have gas, are going to raise their prices.
"I would expect the price increase we'll see overnight, from 124.9 to 125.9 into Friday. But we'll also see another penny increase into Saturday." says McTeague.
As for how long it will last, McTeague expects eveything to be back online in several days.
"I don't think it will be a long term problem, but there's no doubt that it's had some impact on prices, adding about 2 to 3 cents a litre to what you're paying today at the pumps."
