The DVP will be closed this weekend for spring maintenance, after last weekend's winter-like weather postponed the annual work by a week.
City staff say the highway will be closed in both directions between Hwy 401 and the Gardiner.
The closure begins Friday at 11 p.m. Re-opening is scheduled for 5 a.m. Monday, but the maintenance could be completed early.
Crews will be resurfacing the road, patching asphalt surfaces, repairing potholes, inspecting 33 bridges, cleaning catch basins, and sweeping away debris.
Alternate routes include Don Mills Rd, Bayview Ave, Victoria Park Ave and Kingston Rd.

There is also a subway closure to keep in mind this weekend.
Line 1, the Yonge-University line, will be closed between St Clair W and Union stations. Shuttle buses will be running.
The mayor's office says staff insist this was the best alternate weekend for the DVP maintenance because other dates this spring would have had issues with possible sports playoffs scenarios, Blue Jays home games, and marathons.
While crews were able to do maintenance on the Gardiner in the fall only in the overnight hours, staff say that would not have been possible for the work needed on the DVP this spring. Dave Twaddle with Transportation Services says the paving and inspection work needs daylight.
