It sounds like the Liberals may be about to offer an election goodie to Toronto.
The Toronto Star reports that if re-elected, Justin Trudeau's Liberals would give billions in funding to Toronto's new Ontario Line.
The 15 kilometre line was announced by Premier Doug Ford back in April. It would run between the Ontario Science Centre and the Exhibition GO station.
Senior party officials tell the Star that the Liberals are waiting for a report from city hall that's expected to endorse the plan.
That report is expected to come out today.
As you may remember, initially, Ford's plan was for the province to take ownership of Toronto's subways but a report last week said he'd be willing to abandon that plan if the city supports the Ontario Line.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer has already promised to back the Ontario Line if he becomes Prime Minister.
