If your commute involves driving to a GO station, parking and hopping on a train you may soon find yourself spending more money.
The Globe and Mail reports that Metrolinx wants to bring in more paid parking, which could see tens of thousands of free spots become pay spots.
The paper cites Metrolinx memos and a consultant report suggesting the charges could begin within months and that by September 2022, Metrolinx would like to charge for up to half of its parkings spots.
Right now, less than 8 per cent of GO's 70,000 parking spaces are reserved for paying customers.
The final plan isn't set in stone yet. It's not clear how much Metrolinx would charge or which lots would be affected.
