Almost two weeks ago, there were reports that Premier Doug Ford wanted to come up with a whole new plan for Ontario Place.
Now, there are suggestions that a downtown casino may be on the table.
Sources tell the Globe and Mail the Premier has privately considered the idea as part of the Ontario Place redevelopment.
However, there have been no formal discussions with the companies that run Ontario's casinos.
This issue could lead to another big battle between the city and the province.
Mayor John Tory told Moore in the Morning on September 7th, "I do not think we should and I will not participate in reopening the casino discussion."
But political analyst Jim Warren tells NEWSTALK 1010 that the province has a lot of power over the city and, "whatever they want to have happen in the city, they could make happen."
The idea would still have some hills to climb.
The Globe reports, according to insiders, the Ford government would have to make a deal with gambling companies that operate in this province.
The group that runs three casinos in the GTA could veto a new one.
