Premier Doug Ford starts this week without his most experienced cabinet minister.
He must also go without the guidance of one of his most trusted political advisors.
Global News is reporting that it was allegations of sexual misconduct that led to a pair of sudden exits within the Progressive-Conservative party.
It was late last week that it was announced that longtime Ontario PC MPP Jim Wilson was stepping down from his cabinet post, and leaving the party caucus.
A written statement from the Premier's office said that Wilson was leaving to deal with addiction issues, but planned to stay on as an MPP.
On Monday, Global reported that Wilson's departure had more to do with allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour.
They are said to involve a male staffer at the Legislature.
There are also reports that Andrew Kimber, Premier Ford's director of 'Issues Management and Legislative Affairs,' resigned last week after becoming the subject of a complaint over 'sexually inappropriate text messages' he allegedly sent to a female colleague.
Ottawa-area MPP Lisa MacLeod confirmed on Monday afternoon that a third party investigation is underway in both cases.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
