Toronto Police have a perception problem, one which experts say needs to be addressed.
Researchers have just told the police board they should be worried about that results of their survey.
It found that while almost 70 percent of the city thinks officers are honest, only 4 in 10 Black Torontonians would say the same.
Fewer than 30 percent believe officers can be trusted to treat their race fairly.
Carlyle Farrell, an associate professor at Ryerson, calls the findings, "worrying" and says it's an issue that needs to be addressed.
