It's already been more than a year since residents of a Toronto apartment building had to find somewhere else to live.
And it won't be until at least November, when they'll be able to return home.
The building at 650 Parliament was affected by a fire in the electriacal systems, displacing about 1,500 residents.
The timeline to have them back in their homes has been pushed back several times, as the extent of the damage became more and more clear.
A spokesperson for the building management team, Danny Roth says the cost to repair the 22-storey building, is in the $50-60 million range, and says there have been an average of 170 worker on site at the building since the fire was reported.
As of the end of July, Roth says about 65% of the work was completed and he says that was the "toughest work". Most of what remains is cosmetic and finishing work.
Roth says despite the costs incurred by the owner of the building, there are no plans for any above-guideline rent increases.
Only 10% of those who were renting, have decided to terminate their lease.
