Health Canada has issued a product recall on certain Sabra brand hummus products because of concerns over Listeria monocytogenes.
The recall includes 25 types of hummus with a best before date of January 23, 2017.
It coincides with a similar recall in the United States where Listeria was found at a manufacturing centre but not in any of the products tested.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products, said the Health Canada statement.
Health Canada says the recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
Food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.
Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
In severe cases of illness, people may die.
