This isn't something you hear about everyday.
Peel Police say six guns have been stolen after someone walked away with a full gun safe from a home in Mississauga.
Officers say someone broke into the home near Bristol Road and Creditview Road in Mississauga, sometime between 12:30pm and 3pm on Monday.
Cops say the stolen guns include, a Bolt-Action Rifle, two 12-gauge shotguns, a .22 caliber rifle and a .22 caliber semi-automatic target pistol.
And they were all obtained and stored lawfully.
NEWSTALK1010's crime expert Mark Mendelson says for the most part, these guns would be target shooters, but he says in the wrong hands, they can be very dangerous.
"12 Gauge shot guns are quite popular with a lot of gangs that are out there," says Mendelson. "In many cases they saw the barrel down to make the guns shorter, to make them easier to conceal."
The smaller caliber guns aren't quite as popular with the criminal element, but as Mendelson says, "Any bullet is a deadly bullet."
As of right now, police say no charges have been laid in the case, and that includes the homeowner who is the victim in this break-in.
