Safety at the Ontario Legislature is under review after a security breach on the lawn of Queen's Park.
It happened around 8:00am Tuesday morning, when a car driven by a man mounted the curb at the southern end of Queen's Park Circle.
It made its way up the boulevard that leads to the front steps, making it roughly the length of a football field, before being stopped by security officers in the driveway.
The allegation from authorities is that the man made some kind of threat to the officers, and was detained until Toronto Police arrived to arrest him.
House Speaker Dave Levac tells CTV News the good news is nobody was hurt but the incident will add to ongoing discussions about safety at Queen's Park.
The Legislature's top police officer is in the midst of a review of protocols and procedures, and Levac suggests Tuesday's episode will help officials make decisions about the best was to bolster security.
Those measures could include some kind of concrete barrier, but so far Levac isn't willing to speculate on what they might be.
Toronto Police Const. David Hopkinson says the driver is expected to face charges.
He insists there was no significant threat to public safety.
