A Mississauga holiday tradition has come to an end.
For decades it was the unofficial start to the Christmas season, the Streetsville Santa Claus Parade, but alas it is no more.
But don't fret, there is still Christmas activities to enjoy!
General manager of the Streetsville BIA, which organized and hosted the parade for the last 14 years, Jocelyne Fleming-Clancy told The Mississauga News they made a few changes last year to add a Christmas market to the Village square and shortened the length of the parade to 20 minutes from close to an hour.
Fleming-Clancy told the paper they decided to expand the holiday market instead of the parade due to a variet of reason including economic ones. She said the BIA's board felt they could not host both a parade and market.
You can enjoy the second annual Christmas in the Village November 25 and 26.
An artisan market, Santa's village, pictures with the big man himself and more will be there.
If you are in Mississauga and looking for a parade, you'll find on December 3rd. It starts on Glen Erin Drive and ends at Woodchester Drive.
