We are learning of a new impact of COVID-19 and it means some GTA students will be disappointed.
Toronto's catholic school board has cancelled planned trips to Europe over concerns about the virus, affecting students at 12 schools.
The board says most of these trips involved students travelling either to or through Italy, a hot spot for infections.
They say the decision was made after calls from worried parents.
The York Region District School Board has done the same, cancelling three trips to Europe planned this month. They say they're keeping an eye on the situation and there could be more cancellations to come.
