The brother of a missing woman from Vaughan says police continue to probe leads into his sister's disappearance.
Zabia Afzal, 30, was last heard from on Thursday May 10 at about 10:30 in the morning. She had used a ride-sharing app to travel to the Ashbridges Bay area.
Her shoes and her phone have since been recovered near Woodbine Beach.
"As of right now, police have mentioned that there's been a large number of leads that have generated," Zubair Afzal told CP24. "They are investigating those leads, trying to pinpoint them and trying to [...] deploy the resources - trying to investigate a little bit further."
On Monday, Afzal told CTV Toronto that Zabia has suffered from depression, but it's very out of character for her to drop all communication as she always keeps in touch with her family and is vocal when she has something on her mind.
Searches continued at Woodbine Beach Tuesday evening, where 150 people showed up to help. Zubair says volunteers have thoroughly searched most areas south of Bloor Street, and have also searched east and west of Yonge Street.
Tuesday's search area encompassed Jarvis Street west to University Avenue, and from Front Street up to Bloor.
Some searches have extended all the way to Whitby.
