For a second day forensic officers are on the scene combing through a home in Leaside that is linked to accused killer Bruce McArthur.
Search dogs with the Heavy Urban Search and Rescue unit were at the home on Mallory Crescent, in the Bayview and Moore Avenues area Sunday.
66-year-old McArthur is a self-employed landscaper, he has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the presumed deaths of Selim Esen and Andrew Kinsman, who were reported missing from the downtown area last year.
Their bodies have not been found.
Kevin Lahey, who lives near the Mallory Crescent home tells CP24 he saw McArthur come and go from the property hundreds of times over the years.
“He used to come here every single day, especially during the summer. He would pick up stuff and drop stuff off… He would take plants from the garage and put them into his car,” Lahey said.
Newstalk 1010's crime specialist Mark Mendelson says he's not surprised search dogs have been brought in since police have not found any bodies yet.
Mendelson says these searches will go on for awhile "He's (McArthur) in custody and I would be thoroughly amazed if he ever got out on bail even though he doesn't have another court date til Feburary, but he's not going anywhere. Police have control of the properties and they are going to take their time and do a thorough job no matter how long it takes."
Forensic officers have also been collecting evidence at four other locations, including an apartment in Thorncliffe Park and a nine-acre property in Madoc, north of Belleville.
