Five of the nine TTC streetcars that were damaged by rainstorm water in a deluge on August 7th are back on the rails.
The Toronto Star reports the other four vehicles caught in the flooding are still out of service and it isn't clear yet when they'll be ready to carry riders again.
TTC managers insist the absence of those streetcars from the fleet should not have a noticable effect on service.
Officials with the Transit Commission say they've made changes to the TTC's 'extreme weather protocol' to avoid similar situations.
That means dispatchers will take greater care to send streetcars out of harm's way when severe storms are in the forecast.
