Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a large portion of southern Ontario including the city of Toronto and GTA.
The watch stretches all the way from Windsor to Peterborough.
The agency says conditions re favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop near the shores of lake huron and georgian bay this afternoon and move southeastwards.
