A shooting that began in Scarborough and ended in Pickering Saturday night, left one person in hospital with serious injuries.
Toronto Police received 9-1-1 calls about two cars shooting at each other near Port Union Road and Island Road just before 9:30 p.m.
Both took off, but one of the cars ended up in an empty parking lot on Brock Road north of the 401 in Pickering.
Durham Regional Police found a male victim inside, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to SunnyBrook Hospital.
The white sedan he was in was riddled with bullet holes.
Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook told our media partner CP24, the number of calls that came about the shooting helped shed some light on the investigation.
"We need people to call us and give us whatever information they have because this is the only way we can find the answers to this is to work together with the public to try and find the persons who are responsible."
So far, there is no further information on the victim or possible suspects wanted.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
