More gun violence is rattling an already uneasy city following a rash of shootings.
The latest homicide happened around 3:30 Sunday morning near Jane and Driftwood in North York.
Toronto Police have identified the victim as 25 year-old Karim Hirani.
Speaking to the media, Toronto Police Detective Mike Carbone said they're looking for a lone male suspect.
"We have now learned that some time around 3:20 Mr. Hirani was in the company of two individuals and attended the building located at 415 Driftwood Avenue. It appears that the three men purchased some alcohol and commenced drinking in the courtyard very near to the pedestrian bridge."
It's at that point where an unknown man parked his car in the east parking lot of the building, exited the vehicle and headed in the direction of where the trio was standing. The suspect walked directly towards Hirani and opened fire. He then returned to his vehicle and drove away.
A motive for the shooting is unclear.
Police are looking for a Black male in his mid-twenties, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
Carbone says they're also appealing to one of the men who was with the victim to come forward. They are reviewing surveillance video from the area.
Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
