The Province's Special Investigation Unit has taken control of the scene of a police shooting in Toronto's west end.
It was around 1:45 when officials say the OPP was trying to pull over a 26-year-old man, wanted on outstanding warrants.
Police had spotted him in the Berry Road and Cloverhill Road area.
When they tried to stop him, the SIU says he aimed his Mercedes-Benz at the police cruiser and drove.
That's when an officer shot at the vehicle, several times, hitting the driver.
He suffered serious injuries but is expected to live.
