The Ontario Liberal party says the line-up of candidates vying to succeed Kathleen Wynne as leader is set.
The party confirmed today that six candidates have registered to run, including three former cabinet ministers, two former party candidates and an Ottawa-area lawyer.
Ontario Liberal Party President Brian Johns says Ontarians deserve a strong voice in the provincial legislature and the candidates are -- quote -- ``ready to carry that torch.''
Former cabinet ministers Steven Del Duca, Michael Coteau and Mitzie Hunter have entered the leadership contest, as have former party candidates Kate Graham and Alvin Tedjo.
Personal injury lawyer Brenda Hollingsworth joined the race just hours before today's deadline.
The Ontario Liberal Party suffered the worst defeat in its history in the 2018 election, losing official party status and prompting Wynne to resign.
Party members will gather at convention on March 7th to select the new leader.
