Durham police have arrested sixteen youth and one adult allegedly involved in a youth crime group.
Investigators launched Project Rockaway over the summer, looking into a group that calls itself GCG, the Gold Crown Gang/Gold Chain Gang, in the Oshawa area.
Police allege the group is believed to be responsible for up to 20 incidents of violence like robberies and assaults since July.
The team of investigators looked into historic violent crimes as well, including a stabbing at G.L. Roberts high school where a youth was charged with attempted murder.
The sixteen youth, as young as 12-years-old, and adult are facing dozens of charges.
