A pilot and passenger are both lucky to be alive after their small plane ended up across the road from the runway at Buttonville airport in Markham.
A portion of 16th Avenue was closed between Highway 404 and Woodbine Avenue while police investigated what went wrong.
Officers reported on twitter that the pilot of the craft was "fine."
The plane appeared to be attempting a landing on runway 33, when it landed long, and ended up stopped on a grassy bank across 16th Avenue.
