Even with a high of 8 degrees forecasted for Saturday, we're not yet done with winter.
Lake effect snow will move in off Georgian Bay overnight on Thursday and could leave about 2cms of snow, especially in the northern parts of the GTA.
It will taper off and then a more wide-reaching storm will move into the GTA, just after lunchtime on Friday, and that snow could pile up to five to ten centimeters by the time it wraps up early Saturday morning.
"Once the snow gets going it'll be a pretty general steady snowfall, right across the GTA." says Geoff Coulson from Environment Canada.
Coulson sasy you can expect to see a couple of centimeters on the ground in time for the drive home to start.
Good news though, this is not the same system that is hammering parts of the Eastern US, leaving as much as two feet of snow in some areas.
"This one is coming in from the west and is moving rather quickly".
He says that US storm is going to move on to the Canadian east coast on the weekend.
After the rather balmy weekend, with highs of +8 and +5 in Toronto, Coulson says you can expect the temperatures to get back down to normal as we head back into the work week.
