It's going to be a snowy and wet end to 2016.
Environment Canada says an Alberta clipper moving in to the GTA overnight will bring with it snow, mixed with rain in some areas.
The system is expected to arrive around 4 a.m.
As the temperature rises, areas close to Lake Ontario could see snow mixing with rain, leading to just a couple of centimetres of accumulation.
The weather agency says areas close to the 401 could get 3 to 4 cm of snow.
Northern York and Durham regions, though, could be covered by 5 to 10 cm.
Meteorologist Mark Schuster says the heaviest precipitation will be in the morning and early afternoon, and move out of the GTA around 8 or 9 p.m., allowing for a more enjoyable New Year's Eve celebration outdoors.
