A neighbourhood that has been plagued by gun violence is worried about the future of a community centre project.
The province is being accused of holding back funding for a cultural community hub in Lawrence Heights.
The former Liberal government pledged $14 million last year but today's PC Government says the money was never set aside.
The local councillor is worried the funding issues could mean years of delays.
PC MPP Robin Martin told NEWSTALK 1010's the Nightside, "This project would be slated to begin no earlier than 2022."
She says the government is still waiting on a formal application for the project.
"We look forward to reviewing the application and it can go through the proper channels," Martin says. "If it's a good project, and it sounds like it may well be, then we will approve it."
