Toronto Police are trying to track down the person who stole a puppy from a west end park over the Labour Day long weekend.
Authorities say Thunder, a pint-sized Pomeranian puppy, was out for an early-morning, lakeside walk on Monday with a friend of his owner.
It was around 3:00am when Thunder was tied to a bench in Budapest Park, near Lakeshore Blvd. and Parkside Dr., while his companion went into a nearby store.
When that person returned, the dog was gone.
Thunder is a tan-coloured Pomeranian and was wearing a leash and harness, with serial numbers on his tags when he went missing.
Const. Rob Reid says police have an unconfirmed report from the following day that suggested Thunder had been spotted in Toronto's east end.
However, there was no sign of the puppy.
Anyone with information should contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
