Niagara Regional Police say Justin Kuijer, the man wanted in the murder of his seven-year-old stepson, has been arrested
Chief Jeff McGuire tells NEWSTALK 1010, "Justin Kuijer has been arrested in Kenora by our colleagues from the O.P.P. After a tip from a citizen."
In a media release, police say a 2009 Pontiac Montana van was found in a parking lot with Kuijer inside and that he was, "arrested without incident."
Seven-year-old Nathan Dumas was found Friday with critical injuries in a home in St. Catharines. He later died in hospital.
Police had issued a Canada-wide warrant for Kuijer's arrest on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder.
He had been unaccounted for since about 10:30 a.m. Friday when police allege he stabbed an employee at a St. Catharines RBC branch. Police say Kuijer and the woman had a "professional relationship" but would not elaborate.
Police allege Kuijer murdered Dumas before driving to the bank.
