Peel Police were looking for two suspects after two men were stabbed inside the Walmart at the Square One Mall in Mississauga around 7:45 Friday night. It happened while the mall was busy with "Black Friday" shopping.
Constable Danny Marttini said there was "a heavy police presence" at the mall as police hoped witnesses would be able to provide information about the suspects. She said both men who were stabbed were conscious and breathing, and were able to give police a description of the men who stabbed them. Both victims were transported to a trauma centre, she said, and both had injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Many shoppers in the mall were apparently not aware of the case, which happened just over two hours before the mall was to close for the night. Marttini said that would have depended where they were at the time.
Police were looking for security video as well as any information or images witnesses would be able to provide. "Hopefully we get some good information" to help find the suspects, she added.
