There has been a development in the colleges strike that the union says is a "bomb" being dropped by the college council.
The council, which represents the province's 24 colleges, has called for a vote for its latest offer that it says addresses the union's priorities.
Union representative JP Hornick, though, says they are calling on faculty members to reject the offer.
"It's a reprehensible stunt," Hornick says.
She says it might take up to two weeks for the labour board to call a vote, while the colleges say they expect it to take between five and 10 days.
"The semester is in jeopardy," Hornick says.
The college council has asked the union to suspend its strike while the vote is being organized, but Hornick says they will only do so when the employer comes back with an offer they can recommend to their members.
About 12,000 faculty members have been on strike for three weeks, affecting half a million students across the province.
