It's only the first week of school, and Durham Regional Police are already dealing with their first after-school fight that led to a stabbing.
An 18 year old boy was involved in an altercation, on the football field behind G.L. Roberts Collegiate and Vocational Institute, near Phillip Murray and Cedar.
Police originally believed he suffered only minor injuries in the stabbing on Wednesday afternoon, but soon needed to be rushed to Toronto hospital, for emergency surgery.
He's now recovering in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
When it comes to a suspect, police are looking for a male, black, 16-19 years old, 6' tall, wearing a red coat and black pants.
Anyone with information can call Durham Regional Police.
