There will be plenty of opportunity to be frustrated at Toronto traffic this summer.
While the official list of projects from the city won't be released for a couple more weeks, NEWSTALK1010 has been able to unearth a few major roads that will be affected when you're trying to get around this summer.
One of the biggest will be in effect right though the fall as well, with the removal of the York, Bay, Yonge ramp on the Gardiner. That starts on April 17th and will affect lanes on Lakeshore and will also mean increased traffic on the ramps for Spadina. Traffic there, will be tied up for eight months, until January 2018.
But there will be others as well.
Dundas is a route that will be affected in a couple of ways. First, construction between April and October will mean lanes will be blocked between Yonge and Chuch Sts. That's for the replacement of a watermain and removal and replacement of the old streetcar tracks through there.
The intersction of Dundas and Parliament will also be closed for three weeks between May and June, while streetcar tracks and concrete are replaced in the intersection of Dundas and Parliament.
In the west end, the 6-points in Etobicoke will be affected by construction, which means traffic will likely be backed up on Kipling, Bloor and Dundas West. That is a road reconfiguration project that started last year, but the next phase kicks off this month. It should be wrapped up by 2020.
Also, a section of The Queensway will be down to one lane in each direction between High St and South Kingsway, because of bridge reconstruction and that will be in effect for most of the summer.
Don't forget about the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, with construction along the entire stretch of that road, blocking lanes at times through the city, and that will continue through the summer.
