Quick police work is being credited in the arrest of the man suspected of murder inside a Mississauga parking garage.
On Sept. 28, a call for help went out from a private lot below a condo tower near Grand Park Dr and Burnhamthorpe Rd W. When police rolled in they discovered a man suffering from a fatal stab wound. He could not be revived.
The victim has been identified as 31 year-old Nam Huu Pham of Toronto.
Less than a week later, police have cuffed the man they think took Pham's life.
On Monday caught up with their suspect near the Queensway and Hurontario St. David Bachoo has been charged with first-degree murder.
Video obtained by NEWSTALK 1010's sister station CP24 appears to show moments just after the arrest. The footage shows emergency task force members and a number of black vehicles surrounding a white hatchback.
Peel Regional Police const. Mark Fisher could not say if Baichoo and Pham knew each other or what may have prompted the deadly violence.
"It appears that the victim was a pre-determined target," Fisher tells NEWSTALK 1010. "At this point we do not believe that there's any risk of harm to the public."
After an initial appearance, Baichoo is due back in a Brampton court Nov. 4.
