Toronto Community Housing has pleaded guilty to failing to implement the approved fire safety plan in connection with a fire at a Scarborough apartment building.
The agency has been fined $100,000.
Three seniors died in the fire at 1315 Neilson Road on Feb. 5, 2016. A fourth died of their injuries about a month later. 15 people were injured.
The fire was later deemed arson but so far no arrests have been made.
TCH was also charged with permitting combustible materials to accumulate in a means of egress and failing to instruct supervisory staff in the fire emergency procedures in the fire safety plan before they are given responsibility for fire safety.
Those two charged were dropped.
