The Toronto District School Board voted to suspend a program that places police officers in schools.
The school resource officer program has been criticized by activist groups concerned it could be racially bias.
Last week the Toronto police services board voted unanimously to review the program, but decided not to suspend it during the review.
At the TDSB meeting Wednesday night trustees voted to suspend it at least until November, while they conduct their own review.
In the program currently 36 officers are placed in 75 schools.
