Hamilton Police say they have yet to identify any suspects after a teenage boy was reportedly shot in the city overnight.
It happened just after 4:00 a.m. Sunday in an industrial area of the city (470 Beach Road) near Kenilworth and Nikola Tesla.
In a news release, police say the young victim was put into a vehicle with several others and driven to a Hamilton Fire Department unit near Dalhouse and Ottawa Street North. From there, the boy was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The boy died about two hours later.
He has since been identified as Natshon Defreitas, 19, of Toronto.
Although this is considered a homicide - the city's 6th of the year - they have very little information and can't even absolutely confirm he died of a gunshot wound.
Hamilton Police say his family has asked for privacy.
Anyone who witnessed what happened or has more information on the victim or suspects is asked to call Hamilton Police at 905-546-3874 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
