Many places around the province also broke records, some more than 60 years old, including Waterloo, Hamilton, Sudbury and Ottawa.
Most of southern Ontario remains under a heat warning Sunday including Toronto where the city's medical officer of health has issued one as well.
Environment Canada was predicting a high of 32 C on Saturday and 33 C on Sunday, but that's without the humidex values making it feel closer to 40 C.
This is the fourth heat warning issued by the city of Toronto in 2017 compared to 14 issued in 2016.
Cooling shelters and splash pads are open in the city to help people cool down.
