The funding fight continues between Toronto's Mayor and Queen's Park.
New this morning, Mayor John Tory has written a letter to Premier Doug Ford that says the city would be willing to work with the province to find budget savings, but it won't happen for this budget year.
Tory calls on Ford to reverse the $178 million in cuts that are retroactive to April 1st. He says city staff are going line-by-line looking for savings but it's just not possible to find that much.
"This is because you have applied cuts retroactively, and we are left to find a higher magnitude of efficiencies than ever before, half way through the year. It simply defies logic to suggest this is possible," Tory writes.
The city has said the cuts could affect subsidized child care, public health and the TTC, and that they may be forced to either make cuts to services or raise taxes.
